To provide strategic flood risk data from the National Flood Risk Assessment (NFRA) v3.0 per 500m by 500m grid.
<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>Flood risk data included in this grid is a score indicating the level of flood risk</SPAN><SPAN> to residential properties</SPAN><SPAN> in each grid. </SPAN><SPAN>The scores range from 1-7, with 1 indicating lower flood risk, and 7 indicating higher flood risk. These scores are generated based on the number of properties at risk in each grid, the frequency with which properties are expected to flood, which sources of flooding affect the properties and the depth of flood water expected. </SPAN><SPAN> </SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>

The National Flood Risk Assessment (NFRA) version 3.0 is a high level screening tool which assesses the adverse consequences of flooding from the sea, rivers and surface water within Scotland. The outputs from the NFRA aid the identification of areas of potentially significant flood risk across Scotland, which are referred to as Potentially Vulnerable Areas (PVAs). The NFRA overlays SEPA’s flood maps with data from Ordnance Survey to identify receptors which are located in areas at risk of flooding. The NFRA data is collated on a 500m by 500m grid. The grid structure enables straightforward aggregation to a range of administrative scales, including Potentially Vulnerable Areas (PVAs).
